THE SILVER ROSE: Dedication & Contents

Let the god that is within you be the champion of the being that you are
Marcus Aurelius

DEDICATION

TO THOSE FOUR NOBLE & INCOMPARABLE ROSES OF STONE

Your Lordships most bounden.

In the year of the loss of your grooviest member, this epic cycle is now both consecrated, & dedicated, to thy band of brothers; thou effusions of nature, thou proper top group o’ proper top lads. Sans arme, sans violence et sans haine.

While others are lauded by the base noises of popular acclaim, the Stone Roses are the chosen clarion of the Gods.

I am one among millions, who are thankful to their utmost regard, respect & gratitude for the many favors we have receiv’d from your music. I, myself, offer nothing but immense gratitude, imperishable esteem & a royal respect for your songcraft & your playing, which combin’d with your excuisite anima did awaken the latent artist in my spirit, & did inspire this poet for higher titles in his work.

Now the impulse to create has finally settl’d from the radiating inspiration of thy cultural supernova, I hope to have provided a slice of refin’d entertainment for yourselves, & my readers of taste & genius.

I am also in deepest honour for track 90; & also for Sally – a metamuse like no other.

Hesiod: Come, tell me this too, godlike Homer, what do you consider to be the finest thing for
mortals?

Homer: When good cheer prevails thoughout the people, and banqueters in the hall are listening to a bard, sitting in line, and beside them the tables are laden with bread and meat; and drawing wine from the bowl the wine waiter brings it round and pours it in the cups— this sort of thing is what seems to me the finest.

& FOR ALL MY SALLYS

When He created you lying in bed
He knew what He was doing
He was drunk and He was high and
He created the mountains and the
Sea and fire at the same time
He made some mistakes but when
He created you lying in bed
He came all over His Blessed Universe.
Charles Bukowski
